It's a great game overall and also great for people which are new to city builders for its simple but rewarding mechanics.I’m writing this at the tail-end of a week in which Banished has given me blackened, sore eyes, a pounding head, and an ache in my back. The tornadoes can be annoying and sometimes you feel that there are too few buildings to create, but the disasters can be turned off and tha game can be expanded very easily with mods (the game offers full built-in mod support). In conclusion, the graphic is simple but nice and the music is not too varied but is fitting and does the job.īanished is a good game for everyone that seeks a relaxing experience. You can also farm and raise cattle buying seeds and animals from the itinerating merchants that will visit you if you have built a trading post. One of the problem of this game in my opinion are tornadoes: there are a lot of them (in my playthoughs almost one every 30-45 minutes) and if they destroy the right buildings can make your game end prematurely, without giving at the player the chance to protect from them.

The real enemy of this game is nature: your villagers will starve and froze to death if the right structures aren't build but disasters can also happens, like tornadoes, fires and disease outbreaks. All the structures you can build are available from the start, leaving the player to decide which one build first. In this game you need to build an autosustainable village in 1600-1700, you start with only some families but soon your community wil grow, if they have enough houses to hold them. I played a lot of Caesar, Zeus and other old city builders a lot of time ago but now I was searching something without battles and I found Banished to be perfect. I was searching for a relaxing city building game and I found Banished.
